She loves me, she loves me not

Mommy's little angel. Growing more beautiful everyday. Although..... beauty isnt the only thing that is growing. This little one is gaining quite the temper.

This little temper is quite funny at times. When you tell her no, she will make a little ugh sound at you letting you know she very much disapproves of you telling her no. She has been having a string of grumpy days where she doesnt want mommy to kiss her, hold her, look at her lol. Abby, do you love mama anymore? LOL

This picture perfectly depicts her look of. . .  I am not impressed. :)

She has also found Grandma's junk food drawer and discovered Cheezies. Now that she brings everything out of that cupboard, she is no longer allowed in it. Which has caused little tantrums of her flopping on the floor. Oh Abigail...you are not even 2 yet. Is this a little preview of what is in store for Mommy and Daddy?

OH, and yesterday she said clear as a bell . . . . .  MAMA  :'''''-(

Abby how I love you, little attitude and all.

Oh that annoying presence

We have all experienced one, all hated one, all been annoyed by one. That annoying student!

Every Monday night for the past month I have been attending my Italian language class. For the most part everything is great. I like the teacher, the other people in the class, meh, who cares about them. But there had to be that one, ugh there had to be him, that annoying repeater mr know it all. Problem is, he doesnt know it all. His wife is Italian and because of this fact, he comes to class piping up all the time answering questions, trying to look so knowledgeable but in the end looking like a fool because he is saying it wrong or not making sense at all. My only joy is when the teacher looks at him like... what are you talking about??? hehehehe.

To all the annoying students out there. Nobody is impressed by your vague knowledge of the subject. We are all tired of hearing you pipe up. Just be quiet, learn what she is teaching you. That is why you took the class.  THANKS :)

Muktuk....

Muktuk is from the skin and blubber of  the narwal whale. Usually eaten raw, it is occasionally finely diced, breaded, deep fried, and served with soy sauce.

Tonight... I decided to eat a piece and blog about it.

Not only was I nervous about trying this, I was scared haha. I held it on my fork for a long time before deciding to just go ahead and do it. The taste, rubbery and tough, and tastes..... like nothing. Thank god!

Why did I try it? For anyone who reads or watches programs of the Inuit/Eskimo people you always see them eating their traditional foods. My father suggested to me "When will you ever get to try it again in your life"?.  My thoughts were, who cares and hopefully never. But upon further thought, I figured, why not?

So there it is. Probably the most grossest looking thing I have ever eaten. Verdict - Not as bad as I thought.

Is that an Apple MacBook Pro???

Since Abby has learned to stand our laptops have become a very exciting object for Abby. I was warned that she would smack the keys on the computer. I thought, meh, maybe not...... I was wrong. She immediately comes over if you open the computer. Smacks the hell out of the keys, because things pop up on the screen. Things happen! The thing is, things happen that I dont know how to change, things come up I have never before seen. Obviously this is not good for the computer.

I came across this little computer the other day. I knew that if it didnt do anything when she pressed the buttons she would not play with this toy at all. To my surprise this little computer is fantastic. It has 30 different learning games for her when she is old enough, but for now, when she bangs on the buttons there is a little screen that shows what she presses and noises to go along with it. The mouse also moves and buttons work.

I love it, and so does Abby  :)

Motion sickness why do you plague me?

Today was pretty uneventful. Back to work after Abby's bout with fevers. As a favor to Enrico I went to the Italian Consulate on my lunch hour. The elevator took me to the 25 floor giving me motion sickness in the matter of 10 seconds. Have you ever been in an elevator that you feel your stomach rise and your ears plug? This was one of those elevators x 10. Once I get in the office they tell me they charge $21.45 to sign a peice of paper and they do not take debit. Back down the sickening elevator. Find a bank machine and back up. So in the end, two times up, two times down. BLAH

Verdict on Abigail - Baby measles, the good thing is. She is at the end of it. After the high fevers comes a rash. She has the rash. Poor angel. But today she slept good and no fever. She even played and danced. :)

Ciao a tutti. A domani

Fevers, Doctors, lab tests, oh my!

Today started early early early with a crying baby and a fever of 103.8 (yikes)
After Tylenol and a bath her temperature came down. But it has been ways to many fevers in the past week. Made an appointment with her Pediatrician and took her in.

I have to say I was not prepared for the amount of resistance this little girl would have while the Dr checked her. Terrible :(

The doctor recommended we take her to the hospital to get lab tests done. Getting blood tests done....another battle. SOB*

My poor baby girl sat in my arms ALLLLLLL day. She got a little energy for about an hour, thats it.

We are waiting to find out if its an infection, viral or just teething. They believe Viral, which means just keep giving Tylenol. But I am so tired of my angel being sick. Its taking its toll on us all. When one is down, we are all down :(

This picture is just after Abby woke up and we are leaving the house, going to my moms. Remember, the stupid tractor is still here outside her window making a hell of a noise, so we had to relocate for the day.

Back to work tomorrow, and please please please Abby feel better.

The Bane of my existence

A day off in the middle of the week. Should be great. Right? I would say, unless THIS is directly outside the front of your house. Full construction fixing a sewer line. Nice trench hey?

Needless to say, Abigail was not a fan of this. The Tractor started digging up the cement early this morning. Then at nap time, they were using a saw to cut the cement. Hense....no nap. After running some errands we come back to the house to try again. After 45 min of crying Abby was not sleeping, not that I blame her, the tractor outside was loud and I am sure she was scared of it. I myself was at my breaking point, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! So if you can picture, I walk out and talk to these construction men and tell them I need them to take a break lol. They agreed and soon they shut if off.

Sigh......... my crying baby girl falls asleep immediately. But a break only lasts so long. And thus, this effin tractor starts up. Baby awake.

The top left arrow shows the cement they were tearing up while Abby tried her best to sleep. The two bottom arrows are where our two parking spaces once were :(

I HATE THIS CONSTRUCTION!

My everyday mess

This picture depicts the mess Abigail makes EVERY single day. And this is a good day. I can put it all away, and the books neatly on her shelf. She will immediately go over and rip them all down and throw them everywhere and then sit on her pile and look through them, getting mad occasionally because she can not move what she is sitting on. My question is..... When will she see the bookshelf as just a bookshelf and not as something to empty?

Today was another day of fever's for my poor girl. Will these molars just come in already and give her some relief? I made her dinner, thinking, with the teeth hurting like they do, there is no way she will eat. Boy was I wrong. She had a tray of rice, corn and ribs. She shoveled it into her face so fast and said UMMMMMM with every bite. She sure takes after her daddy when it comes to eating  ;-)

Snowsuit

Today we bought Abby her snowsuit. I read many times that when your baby is in a carseat having a huge puffy coat can compromise the safety of your baby. I have been on the hunt for a down filled snowsuit. My search is over and here it is. Its a Columbia snowsuit. 60% down filled and 40% duck feathers, and its thin because its down. I am super happy, and it fits perfect.

I tried to get a picture of her standing, but today is another day of crabby abby ;)  she is tired and hungry again so she wasnt impressed with mom taking pictures of her. Its the best shot I could get before her meltdown :)

Winter.....look out cause Abigail is ready for you!

Thanksgiving 2011

Sunday, October 9th 2011. Thanksgiving. A wonderful day filled with food and family. My poor Abby. Following a week of fevers and teething pain we come to today. You were not happy tonight my love. I believe a combination of hunger and being tired were the culprits. Myself, Rick and Ang made dinner tonight for everyone. The second we put Abby in her highchair she resisted and wanted out. No food, no mom. Just cry! So she went for a nap. She did not sleep. After much crying, she came back to the table to eat some broccoli and cheese. Not your most filling Thanksgiving dinner. Night was cut short so we could put her to bed. Poor girl. Lets hope tomorrow is a more happy fullfilling day for you angel. Kisses from mom. a domani
